A. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Q. If I get transported by the rescue helicopter will I have to pay?
A. No – the Rescue Helicopter Service is free of charge to all transported.
Q. Where is the rescue helicopter based?
A. The helicopter is based on the grounds of the Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital at the Graeme Lowe Rescue Helicopter Hangar, Orchard Road, Hastings.
Q. Can I visit the helicopter at the Rescue Helicopter Hangar?
A. You can organise a time to visit the rescue helicopter by calling (06) 878 1633. You will need to read and sign the HBHRT safety form about the safety requirements of base visits before visiting.
Q. Is there a cost involved when visiting the rescue helicopter hangar?
A. No, we are happy to have people visit the hangar.
Q. How many rescue helicopters are involved with the service?
A. There is one main helicopter that services the Hawke's Bay region. The Trust is also able to utilise a back up helicopter, when required.
Q. We are holding a charity event and would like to donate the funds raised to the Rescue Helicopter Service. Do you have promotional material we are able to use?
