Management Team
The Trust is committed to keeping administrative overheads to a minimum, reserving funds for operational costs wherever possible.
We have a tight knit efficient team of three part time staff contracted by the Trust, with hundreds of hours being given free of charge by the trustees, crewmembers and the community to support the service.
Our management team comprises of:
Ian Wilmot – General Manager
The role of General Manager involves the challenge of continuing to keep funds coming in for the $2 million annual running costs of the Rescue Service. As well as overseeing relationships with major stakeholders and ensuring the Trust is compliant with regulatory changes and requirements.
Ian has considerable commercial experience and a personal interest in rescue and ambulance services that will help the Trust.
Ian and his family moved from Australia to Hawke’s Bay in 1997, when he took up the role of Managing Director of McCain Foods (NZ) Limited. For the last 4 years Ian has operated his own business consultancy, working with a broad cross section of small to medium sized Hawke’s Bay businesses.
The part-time role will enable Ian to continue to work as a business consultant, director of Hastings Building Society (HBS) and mentor in the region as well as volunteer for St John.
Ian and his wife Elizabeth live in Havelock North and have one adult daughter and one grand-daughter.
Louise Harvey – Marketing & Fundraising Manager
Louise Harvey was born and educated in Hawke’s Bay and completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Auckland. Louise has marketing experience within sports, FMCG and telecom industries in both New Zealand and the UK.
Since 2001, Louise has worked part time for the Trust as the Marketing & Fundraising Manager to oversee marketing, sponsorship and fundraising activities.
Jo Webster – Accounts and Administration Manager
Jo has 15 years experience in accounting and bookkeeping services and in 2005 established her own company, Bay Bookkeeping.
Born and raised in Hawke’s Bay, Jo has a great understanding of the needs of her local clients for running small businesses. Bay Bookkeeping provides expert and friendly service to a number of businesses including Hawke’s Bay Rescue Helicopter Trust.
