The Trust is committed to keeping administrative overheads to a
minimum, reserving funds for operational costs wherever possible.
There are only two part-time staff contracted by the Trust, with
hundreds of hours being given free of charge by the Trustees, Crewmembers
and the community to support the service.

Tony Robinson- Chief Executive Officer
Tony Robinson has a background of 28years in education having
been Deputy Headmaster of King’s College in Auckland
before becoming Headmaster of Hereworth School in Havelock
North, Hawke’s Bay, from 1992-2001. Subsequently he
has set up a consultancy business doing interventionist work
for the Ministry of Education as well as private contracts.
The CEO position for the Hawke’s Bay Helicopter Rescue
Trust is a new venture for Tony but he is very excited by
the challenge.
Tony has a range of sporting interests but a particular passion
for rugby, cricket and golf. He is married to Jill and has
four grown up children.

Louise Harvey - Community Liaison Manager
Louise Harvey was born and educated in Hawke’s Bay and
completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Auckland.
Louise has marketing experience within sports, FMCG and telecom
industries in both New Zealand and the UK.
In 2001, Louise started with the Trust as the Community Liaison
Manager to oversee marketing, sponsorship and fundraising
activities.

Dr Ross Freebairn - Medical Director
Ross has lived in Hawke’s Bay with his family
since returning from overseas in August 1995. He is currently
Chairman and Medical Director of Intensive Care Services,
Hawke’s Bay Hospital and Clinical Director, Elective
& Acute Continuum, HBDHB. He has held the position of
Medical Director, Hawke’s Bay Rescue Helicopter Trust
since April 2002 and is also actively involved on the Trauma
Roster. Ross is on Board of the Joint Faculty of Intensive
Care Medicine (JFICM); Chair of the Hospital Accreditation
Committee, JFICM; Rural Focus Officer, JFICM; International
Liaison Officer, JFICM. He is an Associate Lecturer, Health
Science Faculty, Eastern Institute of Technology.
Ross is Course Consultant/Director of the Basic Assessment
and Support in Intensive Care Course (BASIC), of which four
are held at Hawke’s Bay Hospital yearly. He is also
Consultant/Advisor for other BASIC courses held throughout
the year in other NZ centres and well as in Australia, Indonesia,
Malaysia, Hong Kong and India. |
