PLB Activation

24 months ago - Tuesday 5th April
• 1028 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa Hospital to retrieve a female patient with pregnancy complications
• 1930 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to Kaweka State Forest to respond to a PLB activation – 2 lost hunters were found, rescued by winch, and because they were not injured they were returned to their car.

Cardiac complaint and an injured tramper

24 months ago - Sunday 3rd April
• 1012 hours At the request of DHB transported a 68 y/o male patient with a cardiac complaint, accompanied by a Doctor and Flight Nurse, to Wellington Hospital.
• 1400 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Mount Tongariro to a 38 y/o female tramper who had fallen and injured her ankle – she was flown to Taupo Hospital.

Hospital transfer and a fall

24 months ago - Saturday 2nd April
• 0845 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa, with a Doctor and flight Nurse to retrieve an elderly female patient with a medical condition.
• 1200 Hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to a mountain bike park in Waipukurau to a 44 y/o male with a back injury resulting from a fall – he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Weather a challenge

24 months ago - Friday 1st April
• 0915 hours At the request of Rescue Coordination Centre flew to Waipawa Forks in the Ruahines to to 40 y/o female tramper with an ankle injury resulting from a fall – the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 2100 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa, but adverse weather was encountered forcing the helicopter to turn back.

Two hospital transfers

24 months ago - Thursday 31st March
• 1043 hours At the request of DHB transported a 73y/o male patient, accompanied by a Doctor and Flight Nurse, to Wellington Hospital.
• 1330 hours On the return journey, and at the request of DHB diverted to Hutt Hospital to backload a patient to Hawke’s bay Hospital.

Hunter with a broken ankle

2 years ago - Sunday 27th March
• 1815 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Onga Onga to a female hunter, aged in her 30’s, with a suspected fractured ankle resulting from a fall – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Police Assistance

2 years ago - Saturday 26th March
• 1445 hours Tasked by Police to assist with a body recovery of a deceased person at Maraetotara.

Breathing difficulties

2 years ago - Thursday 24th March
• 1240 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Otane to a child with breathing difficulties – the child was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Fall from horse

2 years ago - Sunday 20th March
• 1400 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Maraekakaho where a teenage girl who had fallen from her horse and sustained a head injury.

Tukituki river search

2 years ago - Saturday 19th March
• 1830 hours Tasked by Police to conduct a search on the Tukutuki River near Otane for several teenage boys who were overdue – whilst the helicopter searched along the river the boys presented themselves at a nearby farm house.
