Lowe Corporation
Lowe Corporation Limited is a New Zealand based animal by-product processing and marketing company. The company processes cattle hides, sheep, lamb, goat and deer skins; and produces the rendered products of tallow, meat and bone meal, gel-bone and dried blood.
Graeme Lowe is the Founder President and Managing Director of Lowe Corporation Limited and his involvement in meat processing, tanning, fellmongering and rendering spans over 40 years.
Lowe Corporation's head office is situated in Hastings, where the marketing, shipping, operations, accounting and finance functions are located. The Company operates three tanneries, two fell mongeries and two rendering plants in New Zealand.
The Company employs over 500 people at the peak of the processing season and has an annual turnover in excess of NZ$300 million. 95% of its products are exported.
Lowe Corporation Sponsorship
Graeme Lowe has supported the Hawkes Bay Helicopter Rescue Trust since 1992 through his Lowe Walker and Lowe Corporation companies.
In 1992 Lowe Walker agreed to provide sponsorship for the Hawke's Bay Helicopter Rescue Trust to enable a dedicated rescue helicopter service to be established in Hawke's Bay. The sponsorship gave naming rights to the Service.
In 1997 Lowe Walker reconfigured their business and a name change occurred. The new company is called Lowe Corporation Ltd, and the Service is now known as Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter Service and is the only privately sponsored Rescue Helicopter Service in New Zealand.
In recognition of Graeme's outstanding contribution to the Rescue Helicopter Service, the new hangar housing the rescue helicopter was named the Graeme Lowe Rescue Helicopter Centre.
Since 1992 Graeme Lowe has contributed over $2m to the Rescue Helicopter and also sponsors the Fixed Wing Air Ambulance Service. Graeme continues to play a major role in support of the service and we are extremely grateful for his ongoing contribution.
