Very busy Tuesday

2 years ago - Tuesday 28th December
• 0415 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Tuai, with a LMC (lead maternity carer) to a female patient in labour.
• 1150 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Porangahau to a 53 y/o male involved in a motor bike accident.
• 1320 hours Tasked by Police to Porangahau to a report of swimmers in the water, upon arrival the father and son where back on dry land, but father and son were flown to Hawke’s bay Hospital for observation after their ordeal.

Te Haroto

2 years ago - Monday 27th December
• 2200 hours Tasked by Air Desk to an incident at Te Haroto where a male patient sustained gun-shot injuries.

Christmas Day

2 years ago - Saturday 25th December
• 1530 hours Tasked by Air Desk to respond to Turangi to a 19 y/o male victim of an assault – the patient was flown to Waikato Hospital.

Christmas Eve

2 years ago - Friday 24th December
• 1020 hours Requested by DHB to fly to Wairoa with a DHB Flight team to retrieve a female patient with a medical condition.
• 1525 hours Requested by DHB to fly a male patient with a cardiac condition to Wellington, accompanied by a Doctor and Flight Nurse.

A busy Wednesday for the crew

2 years ago - Wednesday 22nd December
• 1024 hours Requested by DHB to fly to Wairoa with a DHB Flight team to retrieve a female patient with a medical condition.
• 1420 hours Tasked by Air Desk to meet a St John Road Ambulance in Puketapu to receive a handover of a male patient with a cardiac condition requiring immediate transfer to Wellington Hospital.
• 1845 hours Requested by DHB to fly a young child to Wellington, accompanied by a Doctor and Flight Nurse.

Wairoa Transfers

2 years ago - Tuesday 21st December
• 1320 hours Requested by DHB to fly to Wairoa with a DHB Flight team to retrieve a male patient with a head injury.
• 2215 hours Requested by DHB to fly to Wairoa with a DHB Flight team to retrieve a male patient with a medical condition.

A busy afternoon for the crew

2 years ago - Monday 20th December
• 1330 hours Requested by DHB to fly to Wairoa with a DHB flight team to retrieve a male patient with injuries from a motor bike accident.
• 1715 hours Flew to Napier Airport, to meet a St John Road Ambulance with a patient suffering severe burns and requiring immediate transport to the burns unit at Hutt Hospital.

A very big Sunday for the crew

2 years ago - Sunday 19th December
• 0300 hours Requested by DHB to fly a female patient, with birth of her baby imminent, through to Auckland Hospital.
• 1415 hours Tasked by Air Desk to a report of an MVA with multiple patients in Central Hawke’s Bay – when other emergency services arrived on scene it was determined the helicopter was not required so helicopter returned to base.
• 1530 hours Requested by DHB to fly a maternity patient, and hospital staff, to Napier Airport to be flown to Wellington in a Fixed wing aeroplane (weather in Wellington was unsuitable for the helicopter and all St John road ambulances were busy delaying the connection with the fixed wing).
• 1715 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Ngaruroro River near Fernhill Bridge to uplift a female patient with a fractured ankle as a result of a fall.
• 1900 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Ruapunga to a motorcycle accident where a 27 y/o male sustained a critical head injury – he was flown directly to the major trauma facility at Waikato Hospital.

Wairoa Transfer

2 years ago - Thursday 16th December
• 1615 hours Requested by DHB to fly to Wairoa, with a doctor and flight nurse, to retrieve an elderly male patient with a medical condition.

Spinal injury patient

2 years ago - Saturday 11th December
• 2218 hours Requested by Air Desk to meet a St John Road Ambulance at our helipad, for handover of a male patient with spinal injuries as a result of an accident at Napier Speedway – the patient was flown to Taupo Airport for handover to another SRSL Helicopter (with IFR capability) to fly the patient to Middlemore Hospital.
