Fishing Boat Rescue and Renal failure

5 years ago - Wednesday 20th March
0930 Tasked to a fishing boat approx. 20km off shore from Napier to a male patient with a severe back injury. Initially a rescue swimmer established a connection between the Helicopter and the Fishing Boat to enable a St John Paramedic to be winched down to the fishing boat. The Paramedic administered pain relief, then the Coast Guard transported the patient and Paramedic from a boat off Napier port for transport to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
1245 Transported a male patient with acute renal failure from Wairoa Hospital to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Hutt Hospital Transfer

5 years ago - Friday 15th March
1945 hrs Transported a 16 year old female with an amputated finger from Hawke’s Bay Hospital to Lower Hutt Hospital.

Two Wairoa Transfers

0115 hrs Transported a 65 year old male with medical issues from Wairoa Hospital to Hawke’s Bay Hospital
1320 hrs Transported a 3 year old child, with head injuries suffered in a fall, from Wairoa Hospital to Hawke’s Bay Hospital

Spinal Patient

5 years ago - Tuesday 12th March
1045 hrs Transported a 29 year old male with Spinal injuries from Lower Hutt Hospital to Christchurch.

5 years ago - Monday 11th March
1720 hrs Transported a female patient from Ashley Clinton to Hawke’s Bay Hospital with pelvic injuries sustained in a quad-bike rollover
1900 hrs Transported 62 year old male from SH5 near Tarawera to Hawke’s Bays Hospital, after he suffered a medical event whilst driving a truck.

Motorbike Accident in Dartmoor

5 years ago - Sunday 10th March
1400 Tasked to a rural address in Dartmoor to a teenage male who fell from a motorbike and sustained moderate injuries – he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for further assessment and treatment.

Man overboard at Tolaga Bay.

5 years ago - Wednesday 6th March
1430 Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to rescue a man overboard from a 2 person yacht approx. 20NM off the coast at Tolaga Bay. The German sailor was successfully located by the rescue helicopter team and a rescue swimmer was lowered in to the water to retrieve the sailor and winch him to safety. The sailor was delivered to Gisborne hospital for assessment and observation.

0900 Tasked to Wellington Airport to transfer a male patient, who suffered spinal injuries in a car accident, from Hutt Hospital to Christchurch

Horse Riding Accident

5 years ago - Monday 4th March
1200 Tasked to Castlepoint in southern Hawke’s Bay to a female horse rider aged in her 60’s who sustained a fracture to her leg after being kicked by a horse – she was flown directly to Wellington Hospital for further treatment.

Spinal Patient

5 years ago - Sunday 3rd March
1300 Tasked to Maraekakaho to a male patient who had fallen and sustained serious spinal injuries. The male patient was flown directly from the scene of the fall to the specialty Spinal Unit at Middlemore Hospital.
