Rescue of a Child from Lake Waikaremoana

7 years ago - Airlifted a child from Lake Waikaremoana who was suffering from seizures. He was attended at the scene by Order of St John Paramedics before being flown to Gisborne Hospital for further treatment.

Hospital Transfer from Portorino

7 years ago - Transported two elderly males from Portorino both suffering medical complications to Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldier’s Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

Transfer of a child from Wairoa Hospital

7 years ago - The Rescue Helicopter has airlifted a child from Wairoa Hospital, who had sustained a serious facial injury after being bitten by a dog. The child was flown by helicopter to Napier Airport where he was transferred to a fixed wing aircraft, and then transferred to Hutt Hospital for further treatment.

PLB Activation in Ruahine Range

7 years ago - Responded to a Rescue Co-ordination NZ request to investigate an emergency locator beacon activation in the Ruahine Range, near the Dead Dog Hut. A male tramper, who was a diabetic sufferer, was found at the Hut with the use of the helicopters’ directional tracking equipment. He had accidently left his insulin behind in his motor-car and was concerned about his blood/sugar levels. After being assessed by the Order of St John Paramedic it was decided the man was well enough to be airlifted back to the car park where his medication could be accessed. The man was dropped at his car after confirming he had located his insulin and was well enough to continue.

Medical Emergency in Mahia

7 years ago - Airlifted a male with cardiac complications from Mahia beach to the Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldier’s Memorial Hospital for further investigation and treatment.

PLB Activation in Ruahine Range

7 years ago - Once again responded to a Rescue Co-ordination NZ request to investigate the same emergency locator beacon that was randomly transmitting in the Ruahine Range, near the Dead Dog Hut. The concern was that the male who had been found earlier in the day, had succumbed to further complications. He was found safe and well, and the beacon had inadvertently been reactivated in the back of the motor vehicle.

Medical Emergency in Waipukurau

7 years ago - Responded to a cardiac arrest near the main street of Waipukurau. The helicopter managed to land in adjacent school grounds so Order of St Johns Paramedics could immediately respond to a male who was receiving CPR. Unfortunately the man was declared deceased at the scene.
