MVA and Mountain biking injury

23 months ago - Monday 18th April
• 1100 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Te Mata Peak to a mountain biker who had fallen in an inaccessible location requiring winch extraction. The female mountain biker aged in her 40’s, was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital, with serious injuries.
• 1740 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Whakaki to an MVA. A 32 y/o male, with internal injuries, was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Tramper separated from their party

23 months ago - Sunday 17th April
• 1056 hours Requested by Police to assist with a search and rescue in the Ruahine Forest Park of a female tramper who became separated from her tramping party, she had been located by LandSAR volunteer searchers in an inaccessible location. The lost tramper was wet and cold but otherwise unharmed. The tramper and 3 of the LandSAR searchers were all recovered by winch and all were flown back to their vehicles.
• 1730 hours Tasked by Air Desk to meet a St John Ambulance for a helipad handover of a 63 y/o male patient suffering a heart attack which required immediate transfer to Wellington Hospital

Hunter experiencing breathing difficulties

23 months ago - Saturday 16th April
• 0930 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to Ruahine Ranges, west of Dannevirke. Upon arrival we found a male hunter and his young son who was experiencing breathing difficulties. The father and son were flown back to their car when it had been determined that medical assurance was not necessary.
• 1830 Hours Requested by DHB to transport a 25 y/o female with pregnancy complications, accompanied by a Midwife and Flight Nurse, to Wellington Hospital.

Beacon activation and motorcycle accident

23 months ago - Friday 15th April
• 0939 hours Tasked by Air Desk to SH-5 at Tarawera to a 57 y/o male motorcyclist with injuries resulting from an accident – he was flown to Hawke’s bay Hospital.
• 1319 hours Requested by Rescue Coordination Centre to search for a beacon activation in the Kaimanawa Forest – an elderly male patient was found with a cardiac condition – he was flown to Waikato Hospital.

2 MVA's and a medical condition

24 months ago - Sunday 10th April
• 0323 hours Requested by DHB to fly to Wairoa Hospital , with a Doctor and Flight Nurse, to retrieve a 19 y/o female with injuries sustained in an MVA.
• 1725 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Elsthorpe to a 22 y/o male with injuries sustained in an MVA.
• 1830 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa to meet a St John Ambulance with a male patient aged in his 80’s with a medical condition.

Boat rescue including a dog

24 months ago - Saturday 9th April
• 1115 hours Tasked by Air Desk to complete a rescue at sea 10 nautical miles east of Tokomaru Bay of 3 passengers, and their dog, off a sinking boat – the rescue was a success.

Bee Sting causes Anaphylactic reaction

24 months ago - Friday 8th April
• 1130 hours Tasked by Air Desk to SH-5 at Tarawera to a 47 y/o male having and anaphylactic reaction to a bee sting – he was flown to Rotorua Hospital.

Altercation with a bull

24 months ago - Thursday 7th April
• 0815 Hours Tasked by Air Desk to a farming address near Ashley Clinton to a female patient who had an altercation with a bull – the lady was flown to Hawke’s Bay hospital for follow up assessment and treatment.
• 1255 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa Hospital with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a 66 y/o male patient with a cardiac condition.

PLB Activation

24 months ago - Tuesday 5th April
• 1028 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa Hospital to retrieve a female patient with pregnancy complications
• 1930 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to Kaweka State Forest to respond to a PLB activation – 2 lost hunters were found, rescued by winch, and because they were not injured they were returned to their car.

Cardiac complaint and an injured tramper

24 months ago - Sunday 3rd April
• 1012 hours At the request of DHB transported a 68 y/o male patient with a cardiac complaint, accompanied by a Doctor and Flight Nurse, to Wellington Hospital.
• 1400 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Mount Tongariro to a 38 y/o female tramper who had fallen and injured her ankle – she was flown to Taupo Hospital.
