Cardiac Patient to Wellington

5 years ago - Thursday 6th February
1130 hours Tasked by Hawkes Bay Hospital to transport a male patient, aged in his 60’s, with a cardiac condition to Wellington Hospital.

Rescue from cruise ship east of Gisborne

5 years ago - Wednesday 5th February
0345 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to retrieve a male crewman, suffering a stroke, from the Maasdam Cruise Ship which was sailing from Tauranga to Napier. The helicopter intercepted the cruise ship due east of Gisborne. An Intensive Care Paramedic was lowered by winch on toe the deck of the cruise ship, to “package” the patient for winch extraction to the helicopter. The Filipino crewman was flown to Hawkes Bay hospital for follow up assessment and treatment.

Car accident resulting in spinal injuries

5 years ago - Monday 3rd February
1630 hours tasked by the Air Desk to Mahia to a single vehicle accident with the driver trapped in the car, requiring cut-out by Fire & Emergency. The male patient, with spinal injuries, was flown to Middlemore Hospital.

Allergic Reaction

5 years ago - Sunday 2nd February
1400 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Mahia to a patient suffering an allergic reaction to a bee sting – the helicopter was stood down en-route once the patient had been assessed by a St John road ambulance crew.

1400 hours Tasked by DHB to transport a 69 y/o male to Wellington Hospital for advanced cardiac treatment

Near Drowning

5 years ago - Friday 31st January
1630 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Kairakau Beach to a young child who had a near drowning experience – the child was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
1800 hours Tasked by DHB to Wairoa Hospital to a retrieve male patient with a serious head injury

Mahia Transfer for a child and Mountain Bike accident at Eskdale

5 years ago - Thursday 30th January
1700 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Mahia to a 2 y/o child suffering a laceration to a foot – the child was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for further treatment.
2000 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Eskdale Mountain Bike park to a male cyclist suffering concussion as a result of a fall from his bike – following a winch retrieval he was flown to Hakes Bay Hospital for follow up treatment.

Wellington Transfer

1500 hours tasked by Air Desk to transfer a male patient from a St John Ambulance directly to Wellington Hospital for advanced cardiac treatment

Hospital Transfers

5 years ago - Tuesday 28th January
1300 hours tasked by Hawke’s Bay Hospital to transport a 61 y/o male patient with a cardiac condition to Wellington Hospital
1745 hours Tasked by DHB to fly to Wairoa Hospital with a flight team from the hospital to retrieve a male patient suffering head injuries after falling from a ladder.

Te Onepu

5 years ago - Saturday 25th January
1215 hours tasked by Air Desk to Te Onepu to a 58 y/o male had a heart attack – he was flown directly to Waikato Hospital for advanced coronary care.
