A very busy Sunday for the chopper

5 years ago - Sunday 01 April
Time = 11:30 a.m.
The Rescue Helicopter was called to Waipataki Beach to a male in his mid 70’s who had a cardiac arrest – he was transported to Hawkes Bay Hospital for further treatment.

Time = 3:00 p.m.
The Helicopter was tasked to a rural location at Mangaorapa in Southern Hawke’s Bay to a male child who had fallen from a farm bike – he was assessed at the scene by Paramedics from St John, and transport was not necessary.

Time = 5:00 p.m.
The Helicopter was called again to Southern Hawke’s Bay – this time to Blackhead Beach to a 36 y.o. male who dislocated his shoulder – he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for further treatment.

Porangahau emergency pick up

1030 The rescue helicopter was responded to a camp ground at Porangahau for a 61 year old male who had a medical problem. He was transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for further treatment.

Dessert road car accident

5 years ago - Friday 30 March
1530 The rescue helicopter was responded to a car accident, on the Dessert Road where a tanker truck collided with a car and a 30 year old female who sustained face / head and neck injuries. She was transported to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.

1650 The rescue helicopter was responded to a car accident at Te Haroto on the Napier - Taupo road for a 26 year old female who sustained chest and neck injuries. She was transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for further treatment.

5 years ago - Wednesday 28 Marc
1000 Transported a 24 y.o. female with breathing problems from Wairoa Hospital to Hawke’s Bay hospital.

1630 The rescue helicopter was responded to Sandy Bay Hut at Lake Waikareiti, near Lake Waikaremoana for a 75 year old male hunter with an ankle injury and was unable to walk out of the bush. He was transported to Wairoa Hospital for further treatment.

PLB Activation

5 years ago - Tuesday 27 March
1215 The Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter was tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to investigate a PLB (personal locator beacon) activation near Putorino on the road between Napier and Wairoa. The helicopter used a direction finder to locate the beacon, and found a 58 y.o. male who was doing pest control in the area. He climbed over a fence, tripped and fell and fractured his leg, but managed to activate his PLB. He was down in a steep and inaccessible gully which required a winch extraction of the patient and paramedic. Once extracted the patient was flown to Hawkes Bay Hospital for further treatment.

0645 Transported a 23 y.o. female patient with pregnancy complications from Wairoa Hospital to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Wairoa

5 years ago - Saturday 24 March
Tasked to fly to Wairoa at midnight to pick up a 28yo female with birthing problems. She was flown to the maternity unit at Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Mohaka

5 years ago - Wednesday 21 March
Flew to Mohaka township to pick up a 75 yo male with cardiac problems. He was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for further assessment and treatment.

Morere

5 years ago - Tuesday 20 March
Responded to Morere in northern Hawke’s Bay to a 56yo female on farm who had fallen and injured her knee. She was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
