Respiratory problems, pregnancy complications and stab wounds

10 months ago - Saturday 27th May
• 1225 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a 73 y/o female patient with respiratory problems.
• 1600 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Flight Nurse and Midwife to retrieve a 23 y/o female patient with a pregnancy complication.
• 1740 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Ruatoria to 37 y/o male with stab wounds – the patient was flown to Gisborne Hospital

Patient with respiratory problems

10 months ago - Friday 26th May
• 1913 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a 35 y/o male patient with respiratory problems.

Pregnancy complications

10 months ago - Thursday 25th May
• 1920 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Porangahau to a 27 y/o female with pregnancy complications – the patient was flown to Hawkes Bay Hospital

Person fell from tree

10 months ago - Wednesday 24th May
• 1413 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Otane to a report of a person falling from a tree and a heavy branch falling on the patient. A 27 y/o male with critical injuries was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

MVA, Pregnancy complication and seizures

10 months ago - Tuesday 23rd May
• 0830 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Flight Nurse and Midwife to retrieve a 26 y/o female patient with a pregnancy complication.
• 1445 hours Tasked by Air Desk to a single vehicle MVA at Ongaonga where a 22 y/o female and 4 y/o child sustained injuries in the accident.
• 1758 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Takapau for a report of a person having seizures – the helicopter was stood down en route when it was determined our services were not required.

Suspected Appendicitis

10 months ago - Monday 22nd May
• 1056 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Flight Nurse and Critical Care Paramedic to retrieve a 33 y/o male with a suspected appendicitis.

Arm and Hand Lacerations

10 months ago - Sunday 21st May
• 0930 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Flight Nurse and Critical Care Paramedic to retrieve a 20 y/o female patient with lacerations to her arm and hand.

Arm Laceration

10 months ago - Saturday 20th May
• 1700 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a 47 y/o female with a laceration to her arm.

MVA on SH5

10 months ago - Friday 19th May
• 2115 hours The helicopter was tasked to am MVA on SH-5 at Te Haroto – unfortunately heavy fog and poor visibility prevented the helicopter from reaching the scene of accident.

Fisherman Heart attack at sea

10 months ago - Wednesday 17th May
• 0953 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Waimarama beach to a report of a cardiac arrest. The patient arrested on a private fishing boat 15 minutes off shore, he was given active CPR by a fellow fisherman as the boat returned to shore, where a off-duty Critical Care Paramedic from St John, happened to be walking her dogs along the beach,. The off-duty Paramedic took over the CPR and used an AED to defibrillate the patient. Upon the arrival of the helicopter crew at the scene CPR was continued until the patient was revived and stabilised. A 77 y/o male patient was flown to Hawkes’ Bay Hospital in a critical condition after suffering a heart attack.
