Wairoa Hospital Transfer

2 years ago - Tuesday 27th September
• 0745 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Doctor and Flight nurse to retrieve a 54 y/o male patient with a medical condition.

Cardiac complaint

2 years ago - Monday 26th September
• 1430 hours At the request of hospital transported a 53 y/o male patient with a cardiac complaint, accompanied by Doctor and Flight Nurse, to Wellington Hospital.

Laceration while skiing

2 years ago - Sunday 25th September
• 1324 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Whakapapa ski field to a 31 y/o male skier with a deep laceration to his leg – the patient was flown to Waikato Hospital.

Crush injury and a Seizure

2 years ago - Saturday 24th September
• 1149 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa to a male patient with a traumatic crush injury incurred whilst working under a piece of farm equipment and the jack slipped, he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
• 1724 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa to a teenage female patient suffering with seizures – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up.

Respiratory condition and a gym injury

2 years ago - Wednesday 21st September
• 1000 hours At the request of the hospital flew to Wairoa with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a male patient with a respiratory condition.
• 1418 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Flight Nurse and our own Critical Care Paramedic to retrieve a female patient aged in her 30’s suffering injuries incurred in a gym session.

Cardiac Arrest

2 years ago - Tuesday 20th September
• 1548 hours Tasked by Air Desk to respond to a cardiac arrest at rural property in Poukawa, the resuscitation of the patient was unsuccessful.

Three medical transfers - Wellington Hospital

2 years ago - Sunday 18th September
• 0845 hours Tasked by Air Desk to await arrival of a St John Road Ambulance for helipad handover of male patient, aged in his 70’s with a cardiac condition requiring immediate transfer to Wellington Hospital.
• 1033 hours On the return journey from Wellington Hospital transported a male patient back to Hastings Hospital.
• 1440 Hours Tasked by Air Desk to await arrival of a St John Ambulance for a helipad handover of a patient to be transported to Wellington Hospital. Our crew flew the patient to Woodville and meet the Life Flight Helicopter from Wellington and handed over the patient to complete the transfer to Wellington.

PLB activation by trampers

2 years ago - Saturday 17th September
• 1330 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to respond to a PLB activation. Upon arrival it was found that a party of 12 trampers and 2 of the party had slipped own a steep slope and unable to scramble out so required winch recovery. The trampers were all checked by our Paramedic and found to be uninjured so transport was not required.

Cadiac pain, an MVA and a missing person

2 years ago - Friday 16th September
• 0525 hours At the request of the hospital flew to Wairoa with a flight nurse to retrieve a 26 y/o male patient with injuries sustained in an MVA.
• 1319 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Blackhead Beach to a male patient aged in his 60’s with a cardiac chest pain – the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay hospital for further assessment.
• 1930 hours Tasked by Police to conduct a search for a missing person, the crew was stood down soon after becoming airborne.

Quad bike accident

2 years ago - Thursday 15th September
• 1557 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Ashhurst to a quad bike accident where a 32 y/o male sustained suspected factures to his leg – he was flown to Palmerston North Hospital.
