Elderly patient with a fractured leg

2 years ago - Wednesday 11th January
• 1540 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Flight Nurse and our Critical Care Flight Paramedic to retrieve a elderly patient with a fractured leg.

Fall from a roof

2 years ago - Saturday 7th January
• 0550 hours Tasked by Air Desk to the AFFCO factory in Wairoa to an incident of a cleaner falling from a roof – the helicopter landed in the AFFCO car park. A 31 y/o female was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up assessment and treatment.

Injured tramper and MVA

2 years ago - Friday 6th January
• 1142 hours Tasked by Police to Panekire Hut at Lake Waikaremoana to a report of a female tramper with a knee injury. Upon arrival the weather conditions high on the ridge were cloudy and drizzle meaning winch rescue was not possible. Conversations with local Police indicated the patient would be walked out by DOC workers, so the helicopter returned to base.
• 1714 hours Tasked by Air Desk to a report of a car crash off a bridge and occupants of the car in the river, near Tuai – when St John Ambulance arrived on scene it was advised that the helicopter was not required so the helicopter was stood down en route.

Injured tramper and cardiac condition

2 years ago - Wednesday 4th January
• 1100 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa, with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a 66 y/o male patient with a cardiac condition.
• 1440 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to respond to a beacon activation near Whakarara Hut in the Ruahines – on arrival a 27 y/o male tramper was found to have an ankle injury and unable to walk, so he was flown back to the car park.

Cardiac transfer and quad bike roll over

2 years ago - Saturday 31st December
• 1504 hours Requested by Hawke’s Bay Hospital to fly to Taumarunui Hospital to retrieve a 64 y/o male patient with a cardiac complaint – the patient is normally a resident of Hawke’s bay.
• 1842 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Pourerere Beach to a quad bike rollover on the beach where a teenage male occupant suffered and open fracture of his arm – the patient was flown to Hawke’s bay hospital for follow up treatment and assessment.

Immediate cardiac transfer to Wellington

2 years ago - Wednesday 28th December
• 1318 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Farndon Recreational Reserve in Clive to meet a St John ambulance with a 75 y/o male patient suffering a cardiac issue requiring immediate transfer to Wellington Hospital.

Two trips to Wairoa and one to Wellington

2 years ago - Tuesday 27th December
• 1315 hours Requested by hospital to fly to Wairoa, with a Doctor and Flight Nurse, to retrieve a 66 y/o male patient with a cardiac complaint.
• 1600 hours Requested by hospital to fly to Wairoa, with a Doctor and Flight Nurse, to retrieve a 62 y/o male patient with a medical condition.
• 1943 hours Requested by hospital to fly to Wellington hospital with a 57 y/o male cardiac patient, accompanied by a Doctor and Flight Nurse.

Cardiac condition, seizures and a stroke

2 years ago - Monday 26th December
• 0937 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Mahia to a 68 y/o male patient with a cardiac condition – the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 1730 hours Tasked by Air Desk to a report of a child having seizures, the helicopter was stood down soon after becoming airborne.
• 1826 hours Requested by hospital to fly to Wairoa, with a Doctor and Flight Nurse, to retrieve a 70 y/o male patient with a stroke.

Pregnancy complications and a stroke

2 years ago - Sunday 25th December
• 0850 hours Requested by hospital to fly to Wairoa with a Flight Nurse and Midwife to retrieve a 26 y/o female patient with pregnancy complications.
• 1150 hours Requested by hospital to fly to Wairoa, with a Flight Nurse and our Critical Care Paramedic to retrieve a 82 y/o male patient with a stroke.

Medical transfer from Wairoa

2 years ago - Friday 23rd December
• 1718 hours Requested by hospital to fly to Wairoa, with a Flight Nurse and our Critical Care Paramedic to retrieve a 79 y/o male patient with a medical condition.
