Putere Patient

2 years ago - Monday 8th November
• 2030 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Putere to a female patient with a medical condition – the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up assessment and treatment.

Cardiac Patient in Wairoa

2 years ago - Sunday 7th November
• 0930 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Wairoa to meet a St John ambulance with a patient with a cardiac condition – adverse weather was encountered and the helicopter returned to base.

Adverse Weather

2 years ago - Thursday 4th November
• 1300 hours Tasked by Air Desk to attend and MVA on SH-5 between Napier and Taupo – adverse weather was encountered and the helicopter returned to base.

2 years ago - Tuesday 2nd November
• 1100 hours Helicopter was placed on standby for a helipad handover of a patient with a cardiac condition requiring immediate transfer to Wellington, when the road ambulance arrived at the helipad it was determined that the patient should be stabilised in Hawke’s Bay Hospital and then reassessed for a possible transfer to Wellington.
• 1815 hours Tasked by Air Desk to attend a motorcycle accident at Raupunga – a 32 y/o male motorcyclist was transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital with critical injuries.

Maternity Patient

2 years ago - Monday 1st November
• 2314 hours At the request of HBDHB flew to Wairoa, with a flight nurse and mid wife to retrieve a patient with pregnancy complications.

Busy Sunday for the crew

2 years ago - Sunday 31st October
• 0255 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Akitio to a quad bike accident involving 2 patients. A St John ambulance from Pahiatua was on the scene and determined that helicopter transport was necessary. One patient with moderate to serious injuries, the other with minor injuries, both patients were flown to Hawkes Bay Hospital,
• 0905 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Patoka to a child with a facial injury sustained in a farming related incident.
• 1550 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa with a flight nurse, to retrieve a 59 y/o male patient with a medical condition.

Wairoa Hospital Transfer

2 years ago - Wednesday 27th October
• 1400 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa with a DHB flight team to retrieve a patient – the patient refused to be transported so the helicopter and flight team returned to Hastings.

Logging Truck Accident

2 years ago - Tuesday 26th October
• 1330 hours Tasked by Air Desk to a logging tuck accident near Ruapunga, where the 40 y/o truck driver suffered minor injuries – he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Labour Day

2 years ago - Monday 25th October (Labour Day holiday)
• 0945 hours Tasked by Air Desk on behalf of Police to fly to Matemateonga in the Whanganui National Park to recover a stranded tramper/kayaker (weather patterns were such that other helicopters could not access the location). The unlucky adventurer was winched out of his predicament and returned to his car.
• 1130 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to conduct a search for a PLB activation off-shore near Waverley. The search was abandoned when it was determined that it was an accidental activation.

2 years ago - Sunday 24th October
• 0100 hours Requested by HBDHB to fly to Wairoa, with a Doctor and flight Nurse to retrieve a male patient with a suspected brain bleed.
• 0438 hours Requested by HBDHB to fly to Wairoa, with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a male patient with a fractured leg.
• 1416 hours Tasked by Air Desk to meet a St John Road Ambulance at Anderson Park in Greenmeadows, for handover of a female patient with a cardiac condition requiring direct flight to Wellington – unfortunately, adverse weather was encountered around Manawatu Gorge meaning the helicopter was forced to turn back and deliver the patient to Hawkes Bay Hospital.
• 2145 hours Requested by HBDHB to fly to Wairoa, with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve an infant baby with a respiratory condition.
