MVA and a cardiac condition

2 years ago - Friday 10th March
• 1000 hours Requested by Air Desk to meet a road ambulance for helipad handover of a 71 y/o male patient with a cardiac condition requiring immediate transfer to Wellington Hospital.
• 2115 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Patoka to an MVA, a male passenger from the car suffered a dislocated hip, he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for treatment.

Medical condition in Te Pohue

2 years ago - Wednesday 8th March
• 2000 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Te Pohue to a female teenager with a medical problem, she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up assessment and treatment.

Infant with a medical condition

2 years ago - Sunday 5th March
• 1228 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa Airfield to meet a St John Ambulance for a tarmac handover of a 1 month old baby girl with a medical condition.

Sever head injury, asthmatic treatment and transport to Wellington

2 years ago - Saturday 4th March
• 0225 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa to retrieve a 19 y/o male patient with a severe head injury as a result of an assault, he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 0836 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Tuai, to 70y/o female patient suffering from asthma, after she was treated at the scene by our Critical Care Paramedic it was decided transport was not necessary.
• 1500 hours At the request of hospital transported a 79 y/o female patient with a serious brain injury to Wellington Hospital.

MVA and seizures

2 years ago - Friday 3rd March
• 1005 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Akitio to an MVA, a 23 y/o male occupant of the truck was flown to Palmerston North Hospital.
• 1329 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Waipukurau to a young male patient suffering from seizures. Because the young boy was anxious about flying in the helicopter, the decision was made to transport him by road ambulance with patient care provided by our Critical Care Paramedic.

Spinal injury, river crossing rescue and a cardiac condition

2 years ago - Thursday 2nd March
• 0937 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Tangoio to a 58 y/o female who fell from the decking on the front of her house and sustained back and spinal injuries, she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 1209 hours Tasked by Air Desk and Police to Waiwhare river to a report of a family stranded in a vehicle whilst attempting to cross a river. Upon arrival it was found that nearby road workers, using heavy machinery and ropes, had retrieved the family of a 4 month old baby girl along with her mother and father from the swollen river – the family was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for assessment.
• 1330 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a flight nurse and our Critical Care Paramedic to retrieve a 66 y/o male patient with a cardiac condition.

Multiple Wairoa missions and a trip to Gisborne

2 years ago - Wednesday 1st March
• 0900 hours At the request of the hospital flew to Wairoa with a flight nurse to retrieve 2 patients, a 32 y/o female with a medical condition and a 2 y/o baby girl with a medical condition.
• 1124 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Tokomaru Bay (Gisborne helicopter was tied up on another mission) to an 82 y/o female patient who fell in the bathroom and was unable to stand and weight-bear, she was flown to Gisborne Hospital.
• 1445 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Flight Nurse and our Critical Care Paramedic to retrieve a 62 y/o female patient with a cardiac condition.
• 1954 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa, on the outward bound flight returned a 47 y/o female patient to Wairoa, on the homeward bound flight transported a 2 y/o male patient with a suspected fractured leg. Both legs of this flight were crewed with a Flight Nurse and our Critical care Paramedic

Six missions in 12 hours

2 years ago - Tuesday 28th February
• 1125 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Waikaoa (near Tutira) to an 11 month old baby boy with a respiratory infection, he was flown to Hawkes Bay Hospital.
• 1334 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Tutira to a 26 y/o male patient with acute abdominal pain, he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 1542 hours Tasked by Police to investigate a report of a body in the water at the Awatoto river mouth. The object in the water was located and it was not a human body.
• 1928 hours Co-responded with the Police Eagle Helicopter to a report of a person in the Mohaka River, our team were stood down en route.
• 2059 hours At the request of the hospital transported a 72 y/o female patient with a cardiac condition, accompanied by a Doctor and Flight Nurse, to Wellington Hospital.
• 2355 hours On the return journey from Wellington backloaded a 49 y/o patient discharged from Wellington Hospital to continue his recovery in Hawke’s Bay hospital.

Quad bike rollover and a medical condition

2 years ago - Monday 27th February
• 0008 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Rissington to a 64 y/o male patient with a medical condition, he was flown to Hawkes Bay Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
• 1224 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Te Pohue to a quad bike rollover. A 57 y/o female was found to be suffering with concussion, spinal and pelvic injuries, she was flown to Hawkes Bay Hospital for further assessment and treatment.

Fractured leg

2 years ago - Sunday 26th February
• 2220 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa to meet a St John Ambulance with a patient with a fractured leg.
