A very busy day of hospital transfers

2 years ago - Saturday 23rd October
• 1117 hours Requested by HBDHB to fly to Wairoa, with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a male patient with a medical condition.
• 1350 hours Requested by HBDHB to fly to Wairoa, with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve an elderly female patient with a cardiac condition.
• 1629 hours Requested by HBDHB to transport a male patient with a cardiac condition, accompanied by Doctor and Flight Nurse, to Wellington Hospital.

A busy evening for the crew

2 years ago - Friday 22nd October
• 1556 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Porongahau to a report of a patient with a severe allergic reaction. A road ambulance arrived on scene and determined that a helicopter attendance was not required.
• 2148 hours Requested by HBDHB to fly to Wairoa, with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a patient with head and spinal injuries suffered in a fall.

Kaweka Forest PLB activation

2 years ago - Thursday 21st October
• 1725 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to investigate a beacon activation in Kaweka Forest Park. Incremental weather was encountered which forced the helicopter to turn back.

Cardiac Patient to Wellington Hospital

2 years ago - Wednesday 20th October
• 1112 hours Tasked by HBDHB to transport a patient with a cardiac condition, accompanied by a Doctor and Flight Nurse, to Wellington Hospital

Another busy Sunday

2 years ago - Sunday 3rd October
• 1155 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Arygle to a moto-cross rider who had fallen and suffered moderate chest injuries – he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 1325 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa, with a flight nurse, to retrieve a female patient with a medical condition.
• 1800 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa, with a flight nurse, to retrieve a young child who had fallen whilst playing – the child was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Very busy day for our rescue crew

2 years ago - Friday 1st October
• 0400 hours Tasked by Air Desk to a skid site loading area in a forest near Te Pohue, where a truck driver had been hit by a falling log, sustaining serious injuries, the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 0640 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Putere where a logging truck ran off the road and rolled over. The driver was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital with moderate injuries.
• 0850 hours Tasked by Air Desk to a farm location near Eskdale to a quad bike rollover – the driver sustained a moderate chest injury.
• 1115 hours Requested by Air Desk to fly to Waipukurau to connect with a St John Ambulance for handover of a male patient suffering from a heart attack and requiring immediate transfer to Wellington Hospital.

Wellington Cardiac Transfer

2 years ago - Wednesday 29th September
• 1830 hours Requested by Air Desk to await arrival of a St John Ambulance for a helipad handover of a 53 y/o male patient suffering from a heart attack requiring immediate transfer to Wellington Hospital

Tongariro River

2 years ago -
Sunday 26th September
• 1050 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to the Tongariro River, south of Turangi, where a male kayaker injured his ribs after colliding with rocks. The patient was hover loaded from the river and flown to Taupo Hospital for further assessment and treatment. (Taupo’s Greenlea Helicopter was busy transporting a patient to Waikato Hospital).

MVA and cardiac patient

2 years ago -
Saturday 25th September
• 1130 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Whakaki (near Nuhaka) to an MVA where a female sustained injuries requiring transport to Hawke’s Bay Hospital
• 1325 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Pourerere to a female patient aged in her 70’s with a cardiac complaint.

A busy afternoon for the team

2 years ago - Tuesday 21st September
• 1645 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Te Mata Peak to an accident involving a paraglider – our Intensive Care Paramedic was lowered by winch to retrieve the injured paraglider, who was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 1755 hours Tasked by Air Desk to a farm at Ashley Clinton in Central Hawke’s Bay to a farmer who had fallen incurring shoulder and leg injuries – he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
