Two Trips to Wairoa

3 years ago - • 0001 hours Requested by HBDHB to fly to Wairoa with an ICU Doctor and Flight nurse to a female patient with a pregnancy complication, the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 0300 hours Requested by HBDHB to return to Wairoa with a Doctor and Nurse to retrieve a teenage patient with a medical condition, the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Kaimanawa Forest PLB Activation & Porangahau

3 years ago - • 0915 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to Kaimanawa Forest to a PLB activation. Upon arrival it was found that a member of a tramping club had injured her ankle on the previous day and was unable to continue. The tramper was flown to Taupo Hospital.
• 1130 hours Whilst on the return to Base the helicopter was tasked by Air Desk to Porangahau to a female patient with a medical condition – she was flown to Hawke’s bay Hospital.

Kairakau Beach, & Stroke Patient Wairoa

3 years ago - • 1145 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Kairakau Beach to a female patient who fractured her ankle whilst walking along the beach – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 1830 hours Flew to Wairoa to retrieve a male patient suffering from a stroke – he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Taupo MVA, PLB Activation & a Head Injury Kereru

3 years ago - • 0915 hours Tasked by Air Desk, along with the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter from Taupo, to an MVA on SH-5 at Tarawera with a report of multiple occupants – on arrival all patients were found to have minor, or no injuries.
• 1225 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to a PLB activation at Kereru, upon arrival, a female horse rider was found to have fallen and suffered a pelvic injury – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 1400 hours Tasked by Air Desk to the same location at Kereru where another female horse rider had fallen, incurring a head injury – she was also flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

A Busy Day for the Crew

3 years ago - • 0715 hours Requested by HBDHB to transport a male patient with a cardiac condition, accompanied by an ICU Doctor and Flight Nurse to Wellington Hospital.
• 1400 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Eskdale, unfortunately the patient was deceased before our arrival.
• 1515 hours Tasked by DHB to fly to Wairoa with a DHB flight team, to retrieve a male patient, aged in his 40’s, with a medical condition.
• 2030 hours Tasked by DHB to fly to Wairoa, with a Midwife and Flight Nurse to a female patient with pregnancy complications.

Tikitiki East Cape

3 years ago - • 1400 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Tikitiki (far north on the East Cape) to a teenage male with a medical condition – he was flown to Gisborne Hospital. (Gisborne Rescue Helicopter was busy on another mission).

Forestry Accident Tinui Wairarapa

3 years ago - • 1430 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Tinui (in Wairarapa) to a forestry accident, unfortunately the patent died at the scene. (Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was busy on another mission).

Wairoa Cardiac Patient

3 years ago - • 1930 hours Tasked by DHB to fly to Wairoa with an ICU Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a male patient with a cardiac condition

Wairoa to meet St John Road Ambulance

3 years ago - • 1130 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa to meet a St John Road Ambulance with a male patient, with head injuries sustained in an altercation, the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

PLB Activation Ruahine Ranges

3 years ago - • 1715 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to a PLB activation in the Ruahine Ranges. On arrival a male hunter was found to be deceased, possibly as a result of a medical event.
