Emergency Flare Activation & Stroke Patient

3 years ago - • 1925 hours Tasked by Air desk to Omakere to a male patient suffering from a stroke – he was flown to Hawke’s bay Hospital
• 2140hours At the request of the Rescue Coordination Centre and Police flew to Cape Turnagain to investigate a report of an emergency flare activation. After searching for approx. 90 minutes the search was abandoned.

Tukituki River Fisherman

3 years ago - Monday 7th December
• 1345 hours Tasked by Air Desk to the Tukituki River near Omakere to a report of a fisherman in the water. Upon arrival the fisherman, who had fallen in the water and his waders filled with water, had been assisted to the river bank, but was found to be very hypothermic from a prolonged period in the water. He was transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for assessment and observation.

Nuhaka

3 years ago - Tasked by Air Desk to Nuhaka to an elderly female patient with a medical condition – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital

Ruatoria Motor Vehicle Accident

3 years ago - • 2:35 am Tasked by Air Desk as part of a 2 helicopter response to Ruatoria to a single vehicle accident with 5 occupants, the Trust Tairawhiti Rescue Helicopter transported the most critical person to Waikato Hospital, and the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter transported 2 patients to Gisborne Hospital.

Dannevirke Farm Worker

3 years ago - Friday 4th December
• 7:30 am Tasked by Air Desk to Dannevirke to a farm worker who had been kicked by a cow, the patient had critical injuries head injuries so he was flown directly to Wellington Hospital

Takapau MVA and Flemington Cyclist

3 years ago - • 2:45 pm Tasked by Air Desk to a car versus truck accident at Takapau, sadly the 3 occupants of the car were deceased, the Lowe Corporation Rescue helicopter crew transported the truck driver to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 7:30 pm Tasked by Air Desk to Flemington to a female cyclist with serious head injuries, she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital

Truck Accident Raupunga

3 years ago - • 6.20 am Tasked by Air Desk to Ruapunga for a road accident involving a truck, with an initial report of occupants entrapped. The incident was a 2 helicopter response along with Gisborne’s Rescue Helicopter. Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter transported the 37 y/o truck driver and the Trust Tairawhiti helicopter transported the passenger to Hawke’s Bay Hospital. The driver and passenger both had moderate injuries.
• 4:10 pm Tasked by Air Desk to a single car accident along SH-5, initially tasked to Te Haroto, but the accident was found to be at Te Pohue. The female driver, aged in her 30’s, was found to have moderate chest and rib injuries, she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

• 2015 hours At the request of Air Desk flew to Te Pohue to a female patient with a chest pain – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital

Wairoa & Tutira

3 years ago - • 1500 hours Tasked by HBDHB to fly to Wairoa with a flight nurse to retrieve a young child with injuries resulting from a fall.
• 1726 hours Tasked by HBDHB to return to Wairao Hospital with a flight nurse to retrieve a male patient with a medical condition.
• 2245 hours At the request of Air Desk flew to Tutira to a male patient with a dislocated hip – the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Takapau MVA & Palmerston North to Starship

3 years ago - • 0620 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Takapau to an MVA where an 18y/o female sustained neck and back injuries – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up assessment and treatment.
• 1600 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Palmerston North Hospital (Palmerston North helicopter was busy on another mission) to a school boy with spinal injuries requiring transport to Starship Hospital. On the return journey to Hastings adverse weather was encountered which prevented the helicopter from getting past Taupo, so the crew remained in Taupo overnight and returned to Hastings early next morning.
