Wairoa transfer and Napier-Taupo MVA

3 years ago - Friday 18th August
• 0255 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Midwife and Flight Nurse to retrieve a 24 y/o female with birthing complications.
• 1009 hours Tasked by Air Desk to attend an MVA on SH-5 at Tarawera, as part of a 2 helicopter response to the accident. A 56 y/o female occupant with moderate injuries was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for assessment and treatment. The Greenlea Helicopter from Taupo attended the accident, and transported a 70 y/o male patient with moderate injuries to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Respiratory transfer from Wairoa

3 years ago - Thursday 17th August
• 2048 hours At the request of the hospital flew to Wairoa to retrieve a 58 y/o male patient with a respiratory condition – clinical care of the patient was provided by our Critcal Care Paramedic.

Helipad handover and 2 trips to Wairoa

3 years ago - Tuesday 15th August
• 0600 hours Tasked by Air Desk to meet a St John Ambulance for a helipad handover of an 81 y/o male patient with a cardiac condition requiring immediate transfer to Wellington Hospital.
• 1655 hours At the request of the hospital flew to Wairoa, with a Doctor and Flight Nurse, to retrieve a 55 y/o male patient with a medical condition.
• 2216 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Doctor and Critical care Paramedic to retrieve a 33 y/o female patient with a medical condition.

Wairoa transfers and weather

3 years ago - Monday 14th August
• 1240 hours At the request of the hospital flew to Wairoa, with a Doctor and Flight Nurse, to retrieve a 48 y/o male patient with a cardiac condition.
• 1830 hours At the request of the hospital attempted to fly to Wairoa for a patient retrieval, but adverse weather encountered on route forced the helicopter and crew to turn back to base.

Wairoa, Wellington and Gisborne

3 years ago - Sunday 13th August
• 1009 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa to retrieve a patient with injuries sustained in a fall – the patient was accompanied by a Flight Nurse and our Critical Care Paramedic.
• 1315 hours At the request of hospital, transported a 59 y/o male patient, post-cardiac arrest, to Wellington Hospital – the patient was accompanied by a Doctor and flight Nurse.
• 1730 hours At the request of hospital flew to Gisborne Hospital to transfer a 39 y/o male ICU patient from Gisborne ICU to Hastings ICU.

Fractured pelvis after fall from horse

3 years ago - Saturday 12th August
• 1738 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa to a 21 y/o male patient with a fractured pelvis as a result of falling from a horse.

Fractured ankle playing golf

3 years ago - Friday 11th August
• 1102 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Dannevirke where a 79 y/o male golfer slipped down a slippery bank on the golf course and fractured his ankle, he was flown to Palmerston North Hospital.

MVA and a suspected stroke

3 years ago - Thursday 10th August
• 0749 hours Tasked by Air Desk to attend an MVA but soon after takeoff the helicopter was stood down because the patient was deceased.
• 0823 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Nuhaka to a 61 y/o male patient with a suspected stroke – the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Wellington and Wairoa transfers

3 years ago - Wednesday 9th August
• 0015 hours At request of hospital transported a 35 y/o male patient with a Neurological condition to Wellington hospital, the patient was attended by a Doctor and Flight Nurse.
• 1150 hours At the request of hospital flew to Wairoa with a Flight Nurse and Critical Care Paramedic to retrieve a 64 y/o female patient with a diabetic emergency.
• 1409 hours At the request of hospital returned to Wairoa to retrieve a 57 y/o female patient suffering from a stroke, the patient was attended by a Flight Nurse and a Critical Care Paramedic.

Stood down on route to Carterton

3 years ago - Tuesday 8th August
• 1438 hours Tasked by Air Desk to respond to an incident at Carterton, but soon after departure were advised to stand down because the person was deceased.
